My Passport

I sent my passport away to get an entry permit into Papua New Guinea this morning.

Actually, I gave it to Cliff who has applied to the country for all of our permits, and once they are accepted, the passports get overnighted to the PNG Embassy in Washington, D.C. I'm not sure if it's a visa or just some other kind of temporary permit. Probably the later. In November we'll be running two weeks of camp for the MKs who live there. One week each for high school aged kids of workers from two of the larger organizations on the island, New Tribes and Wycliffe.

I'm excited for this trip, looking forward to it while working on a few other projects between now and then: two Winter Camp promotional videos, Broom Hockey Rules, and Winter Rules.

I'm enjoying the beginnings of fall, which is by far my favourite season. Tonight I was reminded of three things:
  1. it's not good to run around the lake immediately after eating at the snack shop,
  2. a T-shirt is much hotter than a tank-top,
  3. heaven is brighter than the earth, but that's most noticeable when the sun has just gone down.

My day was brightened as dusk settled on my walk back up the hill to my little trailer: I sang along with Valeri Lopez and all the Wagon Train Campers, "Shake a friends hand, shake a hand next to you ..."

Oh, I am sad that it is the last week of summer!
