  2. So, now that I'm *officially* jealous of your trip into Culture Row, I'm curious if you've started watching Mad Men yet? And how's the book club???

  3. Nope, haven't started watching Mad Men yet. And, the book club has been difficult to make happen. Only four of the 10 or so of us that were reading Three Cups of Tea actually met to discuss. We met over dinner (Yellow squash vegetable soup by Jen, Fresh Italian style loaves by me, and a fantastic salad, and of course hot tea, PG Tips british black) Jen and I were the only two who had finished the book, and not surprisingly, the only two who enjoyed it. (Charles claims that he stopped reading it precisely because he didn't enjoy it.) Discussion was pathetic.
We decided to read A Christmas Carol by Dickens as our next book for Christmas. It's short and easy... and Christmasy. I don't know when we'll find time for discussion. Everything is terribly busy right now.

I just finished Interworld by Neil Gaiman. It was a fun, easy adolescent sci-fi novel. And, last week I read Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. I really enjoyed it. It was both more boring and more interesting than the old Disney movie. I especially enjoyed all the detailed descriptions of creatures and geological features that are no longer true. Jules had an excellent imagination!

  4. Well, since Google has killed our ability to read anymore maybe you should just stick to TV on DVD! ;)

I'd love to join, read, discuss, but time is hard for me too, and I've literally not read a book-book in maybe years.

The English Lit Major in me is throwing a Texas-sized tantrum right now, fyi.
